Thumbs Up for CSM Students - WIN WIN WIN!!
Congratulations to Ellen Corby and Katie Mullen (Vocals / Guitar Accompaniment), who won First Prize in Castleknock Community Colleg's STARSEARCH COMPETITION 2012 which took place on Saturday 28th January 2012. Ellen already has her own band and gigs regularly at local venues in Dublin. We wish them both every success in their music career.

Congratulations to Cara O'Doherty who is this year's recipient of CSM Scholarship Award for Academic Year 2012. Cara is a student of Castleknock Community College and she is having her voice trained for her scholarship year with CSM. We wish her every success. Student Ruth Bamsey Awarded ARIAM Diploma
Congratulations to Ruth Bamsey who was awarded the Associate of the Royal Irish Academy of Music Piano Diploma in December 2011. Ruth is a student of CSM teacher Jonathan Johnston and is thrillled to have passed the performance section of this examination with flying colours. Well done Ruth!
CSM students rose to the occasion of their performance and theory exams December 2011. All students performed confidently and the results from the academy included no less than 26 Distinctions (90-100 percent). Congratulations to all students who passed their practical and theoretical exams with flying colours.

Music Classes for Special Needs
We are delighted to announce that Mini Music Academy are giving music classes for Special Needs at St. Mochta's Parish and Pastoral Centre, Porterstown on Saturdays from 9.00 - 9.45am.
This is sponsored by CSM so there are no tuition fees involved for parents. Grateful thanks is extended to Fr. John and St. Mochta's Parish Centre for providing the perfect venue.
The class is given by Mini Music Academy teacher Margaret Reid. Margaret is a highly experienced early music educator (over 15 years with CSM). Margaret also teaches guitar and musicanship theory at the school since 1995.

Royal Irish Academy of Music High Achiever Awards Ceremony 2011

Congratulations to our young student Defne Gultoprak who has been selected from 1 of 500 students throughout the Dublin Region for her excellent performance at her RIAM piano exam in May 2011 at our Ongar Centre (which is now an official centre for the RIAM). Defne will perform at the RIAM's Awards Ceremony as a soloist on 27th November at the Shelbourne Hotel. After the concert, Defne will be presented with a High Achiever Award by the Director of the Royal Irish Academy of Music. Defne has been in CSM's Mini Music Academy since she was 2 yrs old. Defne started the Pathway to Piano at 4 years and quickly developed a fine technique demonstrating great skill for such a young age. We congratulate Defne and her family wholeheartedly and hope they have a super day on the 27th.
16th Annual Christmas Concerts Series 2011
Our 16th Annual Concert Series was an outstanding success. Students performing did a superb job and CSM teachers were extremely proud of the hard work and hours of practice put in to make the event a huge success.
Thanks to parents too who attended our series of concerts and for their staunch and constant support in ensuring the practice routine is upheld in preparation for the performances! Students always look fab on the day too thanks to you!
